What exactly is a Dynamic ID™?
Your OBolo Non-Financial Dynamic Digital Identity: a unique, persistent, shareable identity for everyday relationships. It can be shared as a readable identity, a Dynamic QR or a Dynamic Link — and it shows different attributes in different contexts, always under your permission.
Is my Dynamic ID™ anonymous?
No — and that’s deliberate. It’s verified and accountable, so people and businesses know they’re dealing with a real person. But it isn’t your phone number and it isn’t public. Not anonymous, not exposed: permission-based and persistent.
Can someone find me if they have my phone number?
No. Your number is not a discovery address on OBolo. Connections happen through your Dynamic ID™, QR or link — shared by you, accepted by you.
What happens if I change my phone, SIM or number?
Nothing breaks. Your identity, relationships, groups, history and (as they roll out) loyalty accounts are attached to your Dynamic ID™ — not to a number. Re-verify on the new device and everything is where you left it.
What if I lose my phone?
Recovery restores your existing identity through approved factors and risk checks, while the lost device is revoked and its access cut. Security controls tighten during recovery — they never relax.
Does holding my ID or scanning my QR give someone access to me?
No. Identity transport — QR, link, readable identity — only identifies an endpoint. Every connection starts with a declared purpose and displayed permissions, and you accept, restrict, decline or simply ignore.
Can I have more than one identity?
One person, one Dynamic ID™ — that’s what makes it trustworthy. Context does the work multiple accounts used to do: the same identity presents differently in Family, Professional or Commercial contexts, under your control.
What does “non-financial” mean?
A deliberate boundary: OBolo carries no banking, payment, statutory, KYC, credit or government identity — ever. It is an identity for relationships, not for money or official records.
What is the difference between a financial and a non-financial identity?
Your financial and statutory identity — Aadhaar, PAN, bank accounts, UPI, KYC — exists for money, tax and law, and is governed by regulated institutions. Your non-financial identity is who you are to cafés, gyms, clubs, events, colleagues and communities. The first is strongly built and protected; the second never had a system of its own, so your mobile number fills the gap. OBolo provides that missing everyday layer — see
Financial vs Non-Financial.
Does OBolo replace Aadhaar, PAN or UPI?
No — and it never will. OBolo does not create, store, manage or represent any financial or statutory identity; those remain on official, regulated systems, exactly as today. OBolo complements them by giving everyday, non-financial life its own identity, so your money-linked number stops being recited at every counter.
Why is it risky to give my mobile number for non-financial things?
Because in everyday life that number is welded to your financial identity — it is a common UPI handle, the channel for bank OTPs and alerts, and your KYC contact. Every loyalty form, gym register and event pass that collects it sits one hop from your financial life, and phishing and social engineering start exactly there. A leaked Dynamic ID™, by contrast, carries no financial power at all.
Can a revoked identity be reused by someone else?
Never. A revoked Dynamic ID™ is permanently invalidated and never reassigned. Your identity cannot be recycled.
Can I stop being findable entirely?
Yes. You control how your identity is shared and who can send you requests — and you can decline or ignore any request without the sender being owed an explanation.
